CHICAGO, May 3, 2023 (Newswire.com) - The American Association of Medical Assistants® (AAMA) installed Monica Case, CMA (AAMA), as the 2022-2023 AAMA Vice President at the 66th AAMA Annual Conference. In this capacity, Case, a resident of Harrison, Tennessee, represents medical assistants and CMAs (AAMA)® across the nation.
Medical assisting is one of the nation's careers growing much faster than the average for all occupations, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. Medical assistants work in outpatient health care settings. Employers are seeking and recruiting these allied health professionals because of their uniquely diverse clinical and administrative patient-centered training.
"It is an honor to serve the association and profession during a time of innovations in health care," says Case. "The CMA (AAMA) contributes an integral piece in health care delivery, bringing competence, knowledge and versatility. The CMA (AAMA) plays a vital part in delivering quality health care while ensuring patient safety."
Case brings a great deal of experience to her role. She has worked as a certified medical assistant for over 35 years. Case is the clinical lead and quality care coordinator at Chattanooga Family Practice in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she has worked for 31 years.
Case has served the AAMA in many capacities, including 2021-2022 Speaker of the House, 2018-2021 Vice Speaker of the House and 2016-2018 Trustee. She is currently the chair of the Annual Conference Committee, Marketing Committee and Maxine Williams Scholarship Committee and a member of the Awards Committee, CASAT-FASD Committee, Partnership Task Force and Advisory Task Force. She has also chaired and served on many other AAMA national committees and strategy teams. Case previously served as president of the Tennessee Society of Medical Assistants and the Chattanooga Chapter of Medical Assistants.
The Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)® — or CMA (AAMA) — credential represents a medical assistant who has been credentialed through the Certifying Board of the AAMA. The Certifying Board of the AAMA was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service under ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2012, the global benchmark for personnel certification bodies, thus distinguishing the CMA (AAMA) from all other medical assisting certifications.
