First Stop Health Named in Inc. Magazine’s 2024 List of Best Workplaces

First Stop Health, a leading virtual care company for primary, urgent and mental health care needs, has been named in Inc. Magazine’s annual list of Best Workplaces for a third year in a row. Highly engaged employees’ most used word to describe the work environment was “caring.”

“I am thrilled our team received this honor for a third time,” said Teira Gunlock, CEO of First Stop Health. “We are proud of what we’ve been able to achieve as an organization – from growth to quality of care – and equally proud of the community we have built to achieve those results. The Best Workplace achievement reflects our employees’ collaborative spirit they share and the commitment they have to our mission of providing delightful, affordable healthcare.

The Inc. Best Workplaces feature measures various workplace factors to identify American companies that have fostered environments with the employee at the center. In the last year, First Stop Health grew its workforce through the acquisition of SentryHealth and ongoing hiring. To engage its growing team, FSH asked employees to identify a new core value. “Collaborative” was used overwhelmingly to describe FSH’s work environment and now complements its “caring,” “unrelenting,” “transparent” and “trusted” values.

First Stop Health employees were asked to describe differentiators for working at the company in the Inc. Best Workplaces survey. Here is what a few employees shared:

“First Stop Health exemplifies the essence of inclusivity. The organization’s unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of empathy and understanding ensures that every individual receives the care and attention they deserve. Beyond merely offering medical services, First Stop Health extends a helping hand, guiding and empowering individuals on their journey toward optimal health and well-being. This dedication to holistic support not only enriches the lives of those it serves but also paints a picture of a bright future where healthcare is synonymous with compassion and understanding.”

“First Stop Health is one of the best places to work for a number of reasons! From day one, I have felt valued and respected by my coworkers. Everyone is so helpful and wants to see everyone succeed. The company encourages open communication and values employee feedback. This creates an environment where everyone feels heard, and constructive suggestions are taken into consideration for continuous improvement.”

“First Stop Health is characterized by a positive and inclusive workplace culture where employees feel valued, supported, and engaged. Key reasons I have enjoyed working here, include open communication, transparent leadership, and opportunities for professional growth. A strong sense of teamwork and collaboration fosters a supportive environment, while recognition and rewards contribute to employee satisfaction.”

The book, which spotlights exclusive insights from culture experts Harland Chun, Lisa Lam, Tracy Spears, and Donna M. The non-plastic hair and skin care brand enhances its assortment with new benefit-specific shampoo bars

BRIXY’s New Shampoo Bars Lather on the Benefits: Hydrating and Strengthening Formulations That Help Preserve Hair and the Planet
BRIXY’s new shampoo bars

Hydrating shampoo bar for dry or curly hair and Strengthening shampoo bar for thinning hair.

BRIXY, a San Diego-based, non-plastic beauty and wellness brand, announces that its mindfully-made line of sustainable personal care bars will now feature a Hydrating Shampoo Bar for dry and curly hair and Strengthening Shampoo Bar for thinning or damaged hair. To target the highest-trending hair concerns, the new additions raise the bar with innovative premium ingredients while maintaining BRIXY’s commitment to zero plastic packaging.

“Understanding that hair care is not a one-size-fits-all category, and also that customers regularly use a variety of shampoos to address a range of concerns – from dryness and frizz to thinning – we expanded and enhanced our existing line with new benefit-specific Hydrating and Strengthening shampoo bars,” said BRIXY CEO Trey Vilcoq.

The Hydrating Shampoo Bar was created for dry or curly hair and is formulated with gentle plant-based cleansers to refresh hair while aloe, shea butter, and avocado oil penetrate to the core of hair, hydrating strands from the inside out. The Strengthening Shampoo Bar, designed for thinning or damaged hair, contains pumpkin seed oil, rosemary oil and caffeine to stimulate the scalp and encourage blood flow to the hair follicle. While rosemary oil and caffeine are known to promote a healthy scalp where hair growth can flourish, pumpkin seed oil has been shown to dramatically improve density, length, and growth rate of hair while also delivering essential fatty acids and hydrating properties to improve the look of manageability of hair.

Both new products are pH balanced, color safe, and contain the BRIXY Blend, a proprietary ceramide and niacinamide complex that helps seal in moisture and protect against environmental stress that can cause scalp irritation and moisture loss. Both products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from soap, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, PEGs, and synthetic scents and colors. All BRIXY bars are packaged with Forest Stewardship Council-certified paperboard that is home-compostable and fully recyclable.

Priced at $15.99, BRIXY’s new shampoo bars are now available for sale on gobrixy.com and Amazon.com. This line extension to its current hair, body, and facial care bars is designed to further engage and meet the demand from our current brand loyalists while attracting new audiences to sustainable beauty options within hair care. Ultimately, this will help consumers make the shift to a personal care routine that allows them to feel and look their best.

BRIXY was founded in 2021 by best friends and safe product pioneers Kevin Brodwick and Trey Vilcoq,  the team behind popular sunscreen, Think. With a successful track record of disrupting categories and a shared passion for creating safe and effective consumer products, BRIXY is their newest venture in delivering personal care solutions: better bar(s), better planet.

ABOUT BRIXY:

The team behind BRIXY is well-versed in creating clean and effective body care products. BRIXY creates beauty-conscious personal care products that are mindfully made. Our products are planet-friendly without any plastic packaging, always. We also educate on sustainable living while supporting the planet by donating 1% of sales to the nonprofit we created, ECOEVO, to support their mission of replenishing the planet to safeguard against climate change. Tabletop at American Bar in Greenwich Village, with Dr. Devgan’s Collagen Booster Hearts

Dr. Devgan Scientific Beauty, in partnership with American Bar, is pleased to announce the cheeky and collagen-infused cocktail, Dr. Devgan’s Dorian Gray. Named for Oscar Wilde’s complicated protagonist who stays young and beautiful while his portrait ages, Dr. Devgan’s Dorian Gray is a nod to how the zeitgeist is approaching modern beauty: with moderation.

Exclusive to the iconic Greenwich Village restaurant American Bar best known for its hamburgers and fries, Dr. Devgan’s Dorian Gray references both her renowned plastic surgery practice and her skincare line. Stimulating a youthful glow without selling the soul, Dr. Devgan and American Bar are fusing fruity notes with a garnish of Dr. Devgan’s proprietary collagen nutraceutical, Collagen Booster Hearts.

Collagen Booster Hearts are made with a unique plant-based formulation of collagen, D-biotin, and calcium. After age 20, the body’s collagen production slows down and with it, the skin’s elasticity, hydration, and turgor. These heart-shaped gummy vitamins can help promote the body’s collagen and hyaluronic acid production, thereby supporting healthy radiant skin.

Scientific Beauty’s Collagen Booster Hearts are available at major retailers, including Nordstrom, Revolve, Saks, Net-a-Porter, Moda Operandi, Equinox Health Clubs and Hotels, and at Dr. Devgan’s flagship location on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The Hearts are vegan, nut-free, kosher friendly, halal friendly, and made in the United States.

Dr. Devgan’s Dorian Gray is available exclusively at American Bar in Greenwich Village at 33 Greenwich Ave, New York, NY 10014.
